今村能章は、幼少期から未確認生物や天体に興味を持ち、自然や神話・超常現象への探求心を作品に反映してきました。窯の中で変化する鉱物や釉薬に魅了され、窯を「超常現象発生装置」と捉え、好奇心や現代社会が封じてきたさまざまな事象を題材に、個性的なオブジェ作品を制作しています。また、器をコミュニケーションツールと捉え、作品を通じて、ものづくりからストーリーや体験等新たな価値の創出へと広げることを目指しています。 本展では、器とオブジェの双方を通じて、今村が見出す“現代の神話”の世界をご体感いただけます。ぜひご高覧ください。 Tosei Kyoto Gallery is holding Yoshiaki Imamura Solo Exhibition. Yoshiaki Imamura has been fascinated by unidentified creatures and celestial bodies since childhood, reflecting his curiosity about nature, mythology, and paranormal phenomena in his work. Captivated by the transformations of minerals and glazes inside the kiln, he perceives the kiln as a "paranormal phenomenon generator." Drawing inspiration from curiosity and various phenomena suppressed by modern society, he creates distinctive sculptural objects. Additionally, he considers vessels as communication tools and aims to expand beyond craftsmanship to generate new values, such as storytelling and experiences, through his work. In this exhibition, visitors can experience the world of "modern mythology" that Imamura envisions, expressed through both vessels and objects. We invite you to explore his unique artistic vision. |
